Saturday Snapshot is a fun way to end the week - posting a photo that you or someone in your family has taken. And it doesn't even have to have been taken in the previous week - something that I'm going to take advantage of this week. Thanks for hosting this each week, Alyce. The round-up is always at Alyce's blog At Home With Books.
This one was taken some years ago now, just after I got my first digital camera, and I was playing with the different settings. Somehow I found the sepia mode and figured these two old-style garden chairs were perfect for the experiment.

I love playing around with the settings and styles. You can make anything more interesting - great shot!
Here's my snapshot.
Thanks, Lisa.
I would have thought that was a real vintage picture. How did we ever manage before digital?
Thanks Trish.
I think the only way to have gotten that kind of photo before digital would have been to use a special type of film, but I'm really ignorant when it comes to photography, especially film photography.
I love playing around with the different modes, but usually don't take anything presentable with them. My husband took some awful black and white photos of me when we got our new camera. :) Yours is very nice though!
Thanks Alyve. You're definitely right, in that I found also that most of the time when I experiment with B&W mode or something, the photos really didn't work. Of course, for B&W, it takes a whole different emphasis on contrasts and lighting I found.
Oh I haven't played with my camera, just too chicken.
Then it's time to start, Irene. This is the great thing with a digital camera - it doesn't matter if you screw up a photo, they don't cost anything to take, and sometimes you can get some absolutely wonderful results.
Besides, if I'm remembering correctly, just turning off the power and turning it on again should set you back to the standard mode if you really start getting some weird results. At least, I think that's the case with a point and shoot type camera these days.
I think the sepia is just right for this picture. Looks great!

Thanks, Bev. Glad you think so.
Love that sepia tone!
Here is my Saturday
Snapshot post!
Very nice shot. I love these chairs.
Thanks, Gautami and Diane.
Very nice. Those chairs look great in sepia. Aren't digital cameras wonderful?
They are, Marie. I absolutely love the ability to play around with different settings, subjects and angles without having to worry about wasting film or developing costs.
Not only that, but you know exactly how it's going to turn out right away. No more waiting and then trying to remember what it was you'd taken that photo of.
Thanks for commenting.
