Saturday Snapshots is hosted each week by Alyce of At Home With Books. It's my favourite of the non-book-related memes I've seen.
The idea is to post a photo or a snapshot you or a friend/family member has taken. It doesn't even need to have been taken in the last week - although I'm trying to do that now.
This one was taken last Monday:
Hummingbird at the feeder. Not sure what species though. I just feel lucky to have been able to get this one at all. I'd seen them zipping by (and heard them too), but never managed to get my camera up in time to catch them. I'd just given up and gone back to the door to go back inside and there it was!

Fabulous photo - I love the silhouette effect.
Wow, I would think it hard to catch a hummingbird. Our hummingbirds don't show up until July.
I love the shadowed image. Very cool shot.
What a great shot! They're such amazing little guys, aren't they?!
Hummingbirds are tough to catch, aren't they? I have a couple in my yard that I haven't managed to capture on film yet.
That's a great shot of a difficult subject. I like the silhouette too.
I do enjoy hummingbirds, and they are such elusive creatures. Glad you captured a shot of this one!
Here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT
Wonderful silhouette effect. Hummingbirds are so hard to catch, but you did great with this one.
Hummingbirds are so hard to photograph but they're so much fun to watch! You did a great job.
They're hard to catch! Great picture!
You captured it SO well. Loved that shadowed effect...
Here is my Saturday Snapshot post!
We have a feeder too, they are such an interesting bird! I love to watch them.
They are such incredible creatures! I can't wait for them to return to our backyard feeders!
I try all summer long to get a photo! Great shot.
Thanks everyone! None of the effects were planned for this shot, to be honest. It was more like "there he is! Can I catch him this time?" and I got lucky.
Hummingbirds are difficult to photograph. It would be a lot of fun to try though. :) (I'm not willing to put in a feeder, so I'd have to find someplace else to photography them.)
I don't actually have a feeder either Alyce. This was just lucky during a weekend away. Thanks for commenting.
Great managing the timing! Hummingbirds are so tricky to get a good view of, let alone a picture!
Thanks Cheryl.
