Saturday Snapshots is a meme hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books where we can post photos we've taken. It's a neat one too - as this meme is a way to get into your creative side.
This is a photo I took some time ago:
Believe it or not, the flowers were part of a bouquet and I took the photo in the middle of the afternoon. Even so, the room was too dark, so I tried it again with a flashlight as well as my flash. This was the end result.

The flash against the dark background makes for a lovely effect.
I took several photos that day that turned out like this, and I've never been in a position to really duplicate them since. I've tried a couple of times, but it's never really worked out.
Thanks for commenting, Trish.
I love that picture! Just like tiny sunbursts. Odd about the lighting, but it made the picture much more effective. Very nice.
Thanks, Kay.
This lighting is beautiful with that arrangement.
What a fun effect. I think I'm going to have to try that out. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing photo! I love cool effects like that.
Thank you so much, Diane, Christine and Jennifer. I'm glad you like them, and I hope you have luck with attempting it for yourself.
It turned out great! A wonderful effect! Little white flashes in the dark.
Here's my Snapshot: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2011/10/saturday-snapshot-october-22.html
Thanks, Bev. Glad you like it.
What a great effect! It looks like you shot them in the middle of the night.
My Snapshot is here.
Thanks, Lisa.
That's lovely - and it does look like it's pitch black out!
Thanks Alyce.
I like the effect. I use Photoshop when I want to create a dark vignette like that but your way is much simpler and easier. I am going to have to try it.
I'm thinking about that now, Leslie, and wondering if I might have done some touch-up on this one back when I took it. It has been a few years now, so it's quite possible. Thanks for stopping in with a comment.
